Wednesday. Lazy time! 31st Jan.

Tomorrow, work.
Today we would have liked to go and see our cousins', but left it too late. So really, I have had a boring day. I felt really tired, so that might be why I felt bored eh?

Cold weather, grey sky. No rain, hail, snow or frost though, no sun either! Still we can't have everything can we?

I have tried to write my friend an email. Started it this morning. I find my life so exciting, I just don't know what to write!
Look, a pink elephant just passed by my window!!! That's a lie too, the curtains are drawn so I wouldn't have seen it would I?

Still not had a cig, could merrily murder one at the moment though. Not going to. If you have had the misfortunate to read other Blogs of mine, you will have noticed by now that I have not had a cig this year! Plenty of sweets, chocolate, patches and a dummy cig but not a real cigarette. Lordy, Lordy, it is a very hard thing to do. But if I can go this far, so can others and if I have gone this far, I can go further!

I remember a nurse I used to work with years ago.
She didn't smoke. I aked her if she minded if I smoked, she said no she didn't mind and I could burst into flames if I wanted to. I thought that was ace!!!!

Tuesday. Shopping!

Tomorrow, sister and I were hoping to meet our cousins' and uncle.
So, today, himdownstairs and I did some shopping for food.
Anyway, plans scuppered. Not going now, cousin has something planned. We knew it was a bit short notice so not really surprised.
Had to leave a message on cousin's answer machine, I really hate them so I must have just mumbled into it. Took the poor lass 3 times of listening to work out who it was!

Nothing much to tell you really. Took down the bathroom blinds and washed them. So what you might say!? But broke the delicate thing at the top. Anyway, nice man brings replacement on Thursday. Couldn't find any in the Do-it-all stores.
Should have just left them all dirty!!!!

Still haven't had a smoke since last year. It is hard work! Getting a bit better though. Can now go for about 5 minutes without thinking of a cig. lol
Well worth it though.

Not Bored Today!

Went to sister's house, then we walked for miles. Stopped less than halfway for lunch, baked potato and cheese for me. I just love it.
The weather was great for walking. We both got a healthy glow. All that exercise and sea air.
As usual, we had a good laugh. It will done us both a world of good!
So, from Hest Bank to Heysham Village, not bad eh??? I do wish I could manage to remember my pedometer!

Bored!

No work, not much to do. Boring.
Watched a bit of TV earlier. "Only Fools and Horses" on Skye.
Made tea, read a bit, washed up, drank coffee, watched Corrie then came up here. Such exciting stuff, sorry if it's made you jealous!
Tomorrow though, if the weather is fine, sister and I are going for a long walk. So, that means it will pour down!
Needed a cig yesterday and today. I say, needed one but I should have said, wanted one. It was the same yesterday too. Worked yesterday afternoon so that took my mind off it. Four weeks in about three quarters of an hour since I last had a cigarette. It seems like years ago. I suppose it was as I haven't had one this year. lol
I am a great advert for not starting smoking! 45 years I have been smoking. Stupid. Take my advice, never, ever start! It's a fools game.

January 26th. Our weather!

Goodness me, nearly the end of January! The month has gone really fast. At this rate, we will be moaning how hot it is instead of how cold it is! That's the trouble with good old Britain, but some places will have it a lot colder/hotter.

Our weather gives us something to talk about to complete strangers doesn't it??? lol
"Good weather for ducks" we shout when it is pouring down. "Roll on summer," we say when it's cold and icy. "Hold on to your hat," when the weather is windy!
I use the Royal WE, but maybe it's only around here they say those things.

I read that The Queen had a senior moment, forgot what day or date it was. Well, blow me down with a feather, I have been having senior moments for years now!

Morecambe Promenade. Nurse tomorrow!

Roundabout in Morecambe! Yesterday and today, the housewife, tomorrow, the nurse. Washing and ironing done and neatly put away! They say a woman's work is never done, oh so true! lol

Work. Poor Nurse!

Poor old M, she got a glass of water thrown over her tonight. Patient threw it. Part and parcel of nursing sometimes. Nothing can be done about it really.

If it had been a younger patient, could get the police involved maybe. But not with an old lady with mental problems. Just hope the docs sedate her a teeny bit.

It's hard being a nurse but someone has to do it! lol

Rain.

Ok, I'm always whinging about the weather. But that wind.

Read today that it wasn't just over here in Britain and it caused a good bit of damage!
Rain today, much better. I have been told the wind will be back tomorrow. Oh joy, can't wait.
Going to work tomorrow and Sunday. Can't wait for that either! (I jest.)

Not one cig today. So I haven't had one this year. I sincerely hope that I can keep this up and never have another one, ever.

WIND!

It is really windy outside. I hate the wind, it frightens me. Ok, I'm a wimp.
I expect things to come crashing down. Fences, tiles and such. Even the chimney.
Roll on summer or even spring. I quite like cool breezes on a hot day.
I don't like ice or snow either. In fact, I should live in a different country. But thinking about it, there are worse places to live than good old Britain. So, at the age of 62 going on 63, I will stay here. lol

He will feel old today. 38. But that makes me feel very ancient. I'm his mum. lol What is worse, our other son is 40 in April.
Pass me a Zimmer frame please. lol No wonder people phone me up and ask if I want a chairlift or a walk-in bath.

I often tell him he could get paid good money for bringing rain to countries that need it.

Oh, it's cold and windy out there. Tried to rain too and I bet it does later. We haven't had any snow up to now. I like snow but only on pictures and Christmas cards. So I am quite happy about that. But, the fat lady hasn't sung yet has she? I do remember one year, ages ago, it did snow here, on May 1st.

No work today. I go again on Saturday and also Sunday.

I am on day 15 with my New Year's resolution, I still want a cig but haven't given in as yet. I don't want to either. Now I must use my willpower. I thought by now it would be easier, in a way it is but just sometimes.............

Nothing exciting has happened here. Too cold I think.

I worked the late shift last night.
Done nothing much today though. Just did a bit of shopping in Morecambe. It was really windy, I tried to take a few pics with my new camera. It was so windy on the promenade, I had trouble keeping the camera steady! lol
Back to work tomorrow, I just can't wait and then, oh joy back on Saturday. I do hope they are better shifts!

Caravan being delivered to Morecambe???
Nearly got through today, had a lot to do though as it's work tomorrow!
Oh why did I say I would do 3 shifts????? Lack of nicotine??? lol Maybe eh?

Spent last night trying to remember the surname of a girl, (Ok, middle-aged woman,) I went to school with. Not that it mattered one little bit.
Doesn't it annoy you when you can't remember something? However trivial.
I had to ring neice and ask her. Funny, but never gave it a thought all day, but after Holby City, I remembered again.
Decided I couldn't go through another night of thinking about something that didn't matter one bit!

Is middle age 60+ now? Surely it isn't old, is it????

Typical.

Typical, I wanted himdownstairs to take me to Morecambe so I could take pics with my new camera, but it rained. As he said, I could have taken pics from car. Not the same somehow.
So ended up watching TV. Made tea and not long ago had a cup of coffee.

Work looms this week. I haven't worked since well before Christmas, but I knew my "holiday" wouldn't last.

In the past, I have subjected you to a photo of my mobile phone, so here it is again but with a plant this time. (Well, I had to take a pic of something.)

7th January! New camera.

Was thinking of selling the remains of New Year's eve on Ebay. But no, these and the tins of bitter while remain here! There is a cola bottle there so, no, I didn't drink vodka and dandelion and burdock with it.
This pic was taken with my super duper new camera tonight so now I can put the bottles, cans and stuff away. lol

DAY 6. New Year's resolution.

I am on day 6 of my New Year's resolution. I need help as this is the day I usually relapse. Maybe it is in my mind, so if I get through today, I will be happy.
Not really happy I suppose as I miss my old, disgusting, smelly habit.
I find I don't wheeze as much and I can smell the coffee!
Funny though, every day seems a battle. I knew it would be hard, and it is hard. But I will really try my best.
The last few times I tried, I treated myself to two cigs on the Saturday. No harm I thought. lol
Wrong! Very wrong. Those two became one more and more often. So no, not a good idea at all. Actually, I had hoped they would make me feel ill but they didn't. I know a few people that have had a cig and been sick. Put them off forever! I really hate vomiting so it could have put me off for life. Ahh well, please wish me luck.
Good luck to anyone else having the same problem or a problem with something else that will do them good eventually! X

Hello there! The sales.

Went into town today. The sales are still on and I saved a fortune. (I didn't buy anything at all!) We had lunch, niece and I, wanderered about in circles. But it was so nice. No stress, just a good browse.
I did consider buying a new digital camera. One with a bigger/larger optical zoom. But I didn't.
Not to say that I won't, it was a lovely camera, not too big. But then, you have to buy the memory thing don't you? They can cost a fortune. Nice man in shop said they are coming down in price though. Will look again one day. lol
PS. Still keeping up my New Year's resolution. I am on day 5 now!

Ok, no more turkey left. All gone. Soon be spring, then summer and then autumn and it will start all over again, Christmas!

Had a good one this year, quiet really but nice. on the 29th December, son and granddaughter came to stay. Went home today. Now we are back to quiet.
Happy birthday to my little sister, now only one year to go and then she gets her bus pass.

Have kept my New Year's resolution up to now. I said I wouldn't be making any but I did. Just one. Hope I keep it up. If I don't, I will tell you and if I do I will tell you in a few months what it was! lol I wonder if a lot of resolutions are broken? Usually, mine have been in years gone by.
I must try and get more exercise this year too.

Now, I have to say that I went to the USA, last year. Just a really, lovely and pleasant memory now. Would love to go again. I really would.
